Who we are

AudioProof is the trading name used on this website. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact us at john@audioproof.net.

What we collect

When you ask for a free sample ad, we collect your first name, business name, type of business, town or postcode, phone number, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your website and any notes for the ad. We also record the page you came from and, where you accepted cookies, any campaign tags in the link you clicked, such as the keyword or campaign. This helps us see which pages and ads bring enquiries.

When you email us, we keep your message and your email address.

When you browse, we collect nothing for analytics unless you accept cookies. See the cookies section below.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To write your sample ad and reply to you. We do this because you asked us to, and you agreed to be contacted when you ticked the consent box.
  • To send you a quote or follow up on your enquiry about a campaign. Our legitimate interest is in answering the enquiry you made.
  • To understand how the site and our ads perform. We only do this if you accept analytics cookies, so your consent is the basis.
  • To keep accounts and meet legal duties, if you become a customer.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a sale: 12 months from your enquiry, then we delete them.
  • Customers: for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as the law requires for accounting records, normally six years.
  • Analytics data: held by Google for the period set in our analytics settings.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of providers to run the site and the form. They act on our instructions.

  • Netlify, which hosts this website, stores form submissions and emails them to us.
  • Google, for Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, only if you accept cookies.
  • Radio stations, Spotify and voice artists, but only once you become a customer and only what is needed to run your campaign.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the UK addendum to standard contractual clauses or an adequacy arrangement.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses no cookies that are strictly necessary beyond remembering your cookie choice, which is saved in your browser's local storage.

If you click Accept all, we load Google Analytics 4. These set cookies, for example _ga and _ga_*, and record page views and events such as form submissions, clicks on email links and audio plays. We also remember campaign tags in your browser's session storage for the visit, so we can tell which ad or keyword brought you to the form.

If you click Reject non-essential, none of those tags load. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Fonts on this site are served from our own domain, not from Google.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email john@audioproof.net.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We will update this page if what we do changes, and change the date above.
